For almost two years I’ve been working on a short comedic film, Ten Minute Decade.  This week we finally completed it and I want to share it with you!

During an eight month period, I got laid off (again) from a job I hated, got married, moved across the country, and turned 30 while unemployed in a new city.  When the dust settled, I jotted down the failures and disappointments of my past ten years and Ten Minute Decade was born. The script was written (and rewritten and rewritten some more) beginning in August 2009, shot in Los Angeles from January-March 2010, and completed post-production in July 2011.

Ten Minute Decade is about a woman who stumbles through her twenties trying to reach all the right milestones before turning 30.  After ten years of missing her own self-imposed deadlines she learns maybe it’s okay to not have what she’s supposed to want.

College graduation, moving back home, first crappy job, drunken one night stands, first terrible apartment, grad school, new career, first not terrible condo, getting fired, marriage, baby pressure...one decade lived in ten minutes (basically).

Please visit tenminutedecade.com to watch the film, check out behind-the-scenes photos, and more.  A trailer and info about film festivals and screenings will be coming soon to the site.

If you’re not totally sick of me after watching my face for nearly ten minutes visit lauramannino.com for more…well, me.

I hope this film makes you laugh and feel a little less alone when looking back at your twenties.  Do you have horror stories about your twenties?  Are you in the midst of your own quarter-life crises?  Share your stories here in the Comments Section!

Thanks for watching!

Laugh out loud funny! And the ending is so true. Once you get over that 30 hurdle, it suddenly seems like you have MORE time than you did before. Why is that?
