Yes, this is what you think it is. An adorable keepsake from Violet’s very first performance of her entire life, singing Johnny Cash’s Ring of Fire and other cowboy related songs at her daycare. See the previous post for the blubbering tale of how I missed the whole thing.

When Richard saw this he fell in love with it, of course, being a cowboy hat wearing, scarf toting rock and roller himself. He suggested we frame it, which seemed absolutely crazy to me – why would I want to be reminded of this painful day? But then I realized I’m such an asshole. This is Violet’s keepsake, her experience, her life. Of course we’ll frame it. And we’ll put it in her room.

How is it that Violet is hurtling through toddler-hood and I’m the one with all the growing up to do?
